look at what cute little surprise arrived in my mailbox today!

not long ago, i was talking to the lovely store owner of a kawaii etsy store named clotique. the store specializes in really cute handmade accessories, mostly inspired by korean and japanese pop culture. the designer, chloe, was sweet enough to send me a few items for a review (and for a photo shoot, which is in the planning and will be available for everyone as soon as possible). the shipping from the uk to australia only took about two weeks or so, and she was extremely prompt and reliable with her shipping. in fact, i think it arrived a lot earlier than expected.

the packaging was so kawaii and there was even a little rilakkuma bookmark in there. you know that i won’t be dog earring the corners of my book tonight (as is what i usually do). i also got a little scratch card and, having scratched it, i found out that you can win things such as percentages off your next purchase and such. i got 20% off but i can’t exactly post a photo of the code.

how cute is everything?~

my first impression was that chloe really took care with her packaging. while a lot of stores will simply throw things in however they want, chloe took care to place everything neatly in an organza bag (which, if you’re buying things as a present, is perfect) and to thoroughly bubble wrap everything. and yes, i will be playing with the bubble wrap tonight.

the earrings that she posted me were really cute and very true to colour. all earrings come with sturdy backings and are, in my opinion, glued together a lot more carefully and better than the costume jewellery you can get in any chain store in australia. i also love the sizes on her studs, as they really are perfect. while you can get items that are oversized or simply too small, these are perfect. they look girly but not overly dainty, kawaii but not overdone.

these are the rings that she sent me. i don’t think i will ever go a day without wearing them! they’re both so different and unique, you know that you’ll never see someone down the street with the same thing as you (unless they bought it from clotique too, in which case… sisters!) the pink bow is a high quality knit and looks ridiculously cute, perfect to add a punch of hello kitty power to an otherwise plain outfit. i can already imagine girls in sweet nude tone dresses or casual floral shorts wearing something like this.

the silver bow is something that caught my eye immediately when i viewed her store. it’s made of plastic and is quite light, which i personally think is actually a positive for big rings like this. the bow will actually shimmer under sunlight and i can picture it in one of those kdrama scenes. you know when the girl is waiting at the bus stop and there’s a really cute guy near her who isn’t looking at her, but then his eyes are caught with the shimmer and he looks at her and she just looks like some kind of glittering goddess?

okay, so i might have an overactive imagination, but just know that this is exactly that type of ring. definitely an essential~!

when i received the package, i had it sent to my brother in law. he had actually opened the original package to have a look at what was inside. obviously, everything else was still in the pink bag and was completely untouched, but the sushi keyring that you see here was outside. it is actually a squishy bonus that she adds into every tumblr purchase. i thought it was really cute. i actually love sushi more than any other food in the world, if it were possible to live the rest of my life eating nothing but sushi, i would be very happy. the keyring is of a very good quality, but i’ll have to make sure it’s not near my bed side table when i go to bed… or i might eat it in a morning daze!

the two necklaces were also perfect for me. i love the cute my little pony pendant and the pink chain was perfect. my favourite part is actually the link in the back as it’s not a typical lobster claw (which is what i usually see) but in the shape of a flower that you hook through. the only downside of this is that its not an adjustable length, but i can’t imagine anybody needing a longer or shorter chain.

the gold deer necklace really made my smile. maybe i’ve over thinking, but i have a feeling that chloe sent this because of how i go under the name of ‘bambi’ on tumblr. this one is on a medium chain with a lobster claw hook. the bambi and the little panel (which says always on it) is also really great quality. it’s such a sweet combination that this is also something i don’t think i’ll remove from myself much at all.

so it was a tough call between the bambi necklace and this ring, but the silver ring is officially my favourite item in the package!
